The sides of the gearbox also serve to keep the fibers on the carder, away from the shafts and sides.

The intermeshing of the teeth ensures that the fibers are combed efficiently. The flexibility of the teeth allows them to bend out of the way providing gentle pressure on the fibers. The extra-long teeth (1/2") and the 8" wide (4" on the roving carder) x 10" diameter drum on the "standard" allow this carder to produce thicker and longer batts than conventional carders.

Choose fine (46psi) or coarse (23psi) (Roving carder with fine teeth only) high grade plated steel wire covered drums.
