Mirrix
Tapestry Studio Looms are designed to be as functional as they are beautiful.
All come equipped with fold out legs to stand the loom on a table and
a sixty minute warping DVD. The Loreli and Lani looms, which are intended just for
bead weaving, come with one coil to to space the warp and do not have
a shedding device. The larger looms are equiped with four coils and
a shedding device and can be used for both tapestry and bead weaving.
This is the perfect take-anywhere loom to add to your collection. Weighing only a pound and a half and measuring 5" across, this loom is versatile, simple, and fits any budget. The mini-mirrix was designed with the on-the-go bead weaver in mind... for those of us who always need a bead loom to carry along. The mini-mirrix comes with a 14-dent spring and does not have a shedding device.
Finally, a tiny loom for bead weavers, the eight inch wide LaniLoom is designed to accommodate the needs of bead weavers who want a small, simple, but entirely functional bead loom and who plan to needle weave their pieces. The weaving width is 5" and the length is 26". The Lani loom does not have a shedding device. Warps are separated by either the one included warp coil (14 epi - the perfect size for 11/0 or delica beads) or a string of beads tied to the top beam of the loom. One leg folds out to stand the loom upright. Although simple, this four pound loom is as sturdy and carefully designed as are all Mirrix looms. It's just a little smaller, a little simpler, for a pared down price. Maximum weaving width five inches; maximum weaving height twenty-six inches.
The smallest MIRRIX loom with a shedding device is only 12 inches wide, and weighs in at a featherweight of 5 pounds. Don't be fooled by its size: the Little Guy is as strong and durable as any loom Mirrix makes. He's just a little smaller so you can weave on the go. A tapestry or bead piece 9" wide and 22" high can be woven on him. Although he is great for use as a tapestry loom, this is a favorite size among bead weavers. This little loom is extremely portable and provides a maximum weaving width of 9 inches wide and approximately 22 inches high. Put him on your lap, or stand him on a table. He comes with a shedding device and 8, 12, 14 & 18 dent warp coils.
Big Sister Lap & Table Loom
At 16 inches wide and a little less than 6 pounds, she's bigger and has been around longer than her little brother. Bigger does not always mean a lot more expensive. A tapestry 13 inches wide and approximately 30 inches high can be woven on this compact loom. She can fit in a large canvas bag and like her little brother is well acquainted with travel in airplanes, cars and trains. Bead weavers who want that extra width or use combined tapestry and beading techniques will find this loom very appealing. She also works as well on your lap as standing on a table and, like her little brother comes with a shedding device and 8, 12, 14 & 18 dent warp coils.
Zach Loom:
Light and sturdy, the 22 inch loom provides a larger weaving width and length than the lap looms while remaining light and portable. This table loom will not fit in a briefcase, but it is light enough to take to a workshop and easily stores in a closet. The 22 inch loom weighs in at a mere 11 pounds and provides a 19 inch weaving width and approximately 40 inches in weaving length. Like all our dedicated tapestry/bead looms, the shedding device is included along with the following warp coils: 8, 12, 14, & 18 dents per inch.
Joni Loom:
Weighing in at only 14 pounds, this 32 inch loom is easily carted from room to room, to the summer cottage, or to a workshop. Large enough to weave a piece 29 inches wide and approximately 44 inches long, this loom is a favorite among people who want the size of a small floor loom but not the hassle, expense, and bulk. This loom is engineered slightly differently than the three smaller looms, providing a double top and lower beam for extra strength. The shedding device and 8, 12, 14 &18 dent springs are included.
Zeus Loom:
This is as big as a portable Mirrix Loom gets. Inspired by a customer who wanted a big enough loom to weave a standard Navajo size rug, this loom was designed for those of you who think big. Engineered just like the 32 inch loom (with double top and bottom beams for extra strength), the 38 inch loom will satisfy those of you who really wanted a floor loom but could not justify the expense or give up all that space to house it. On this 38 inch wide loom you can weave a piece 35 inches wide and 46 inches long. A shedding device and 8, 12, 14 & 18 dents warp coils are included.
