Vicuna, Ready to Spin Fiber
Vicuna comes from the vicuna, a South American relative of the camel. They are rounded up once a year and shorn like alpacas, llamas or sheep; their hair is finer than any other animal fiber. The vicuna will only produce about one pound of wool in a year. Of this fiber only half amount is the finest that is usable for producing the worldwide finest garments.
This is legally imported fiber and has all of the proper CITES permits. This fiber is completely dehaired and contains no vegetable matter.
Approx. 12.9 micron and a staple length just under 25mm (1"). This fiber is softer than qiviut!
