This manual bobbin winder is belt driven, has a self-lubricating bronze bearing, and has holes in the end pieces to secure, support and center lace bobbins. This double-ended winder can be used for lace bobbins up to 9” long by moving the spring loaded locking support (on the right) to 'capture' the lace bobbin. This method of holding the bobbin works to hold the lace bobbin so that in will not fall out nor will it slip while winding. A clamp is incorporated into the design of the bobbin winder which means you'll never have to hunt around for a “C” clamp again. An electric bobbin winder (pictured, lower right) is also available and will accommodate bobbins up to 9” long with the same adjustability and secure non-slip holding of the bobbin as the belt driven winder. An electric winder saves time, especially when there’s a lot of winding to do. This assembly has rubber feet so you can set it on a table or bench. . . no clamping is necessary. The speed of the winder is controlled by a foot-powered rheostat like that of a sewing machine. The electric winder pictured has different tips to hold weaving bobbins. |
