Strauch Jumbo Ball Winder

This Ball Winder can make a very large (up to a pound with some yarns!) center pull ball.

The newly designed Strauch Jumbo Ball Winder uses a ball bearing drive - no oiling or adjusting is needed. In addition, with this improved version, a longer counter-weight bracket greatly reduces vibration while winding.

The extra-long table clamp allows the winder to be clamped to a top top or even a 1-1/2" thick standard kitchen counter top.

This Jumbo Ball Winder creates a unique and distinctive diamond-shaped patterned ball as a result of its complex rotation system. Two things must happen at the same time in order to wind the perfect ball of yarn: The whole drive wheel assembly must rotate as the crank is turned and it must also revolve on the drive cone. Because of this off-center rotation, the ball winder must be clamped to a work surface.
