POTLUCK ROVING - Dyed-in-the-Wool! EGGPLANT, 8 oz.

A wonderful blend of fine wool and a little mohair which is dyed in the wool prior to carding. This allows the roving to be lofty and draft easily for spinning. This is a great fiber for beginning to intermediate spinners - and a fun one for all spinners!

Many spinners are familiar with "BEAST" roving that was produced by the Brown Sheep Company. Well, their very, very old machine used to produce this fiber broke and was beyond repair. It was sold off as scrap metal. So. . . the "Beast" died and went away. Well, along comes a couple who have a full size 60" industrial card built in 1925. This machine produces a finished product very much like the "Beast" we used to carry. . . only they dye their fibers before they run it through their big machine.

POTLUCK ROVING is made from both high quality mill ends and virgin domestic wool. It is hand dyed in small lots then blended into unique color ways. Colors may vary within a dye lot, so spin from multiple balls for more uniform color on large projects.

Wet felting of this fiber is not guaranteed - although many customers report good felting results, please sample first.
