Schacht has built a lifetime of service into their hand cards. They have a small lip molded into the rear edge of the paddle to protect the carding cloth from becoming worn and the handles have been precisely tenoned into the paddles for superior strength. Two gauges of wool card cloth are available: 72 psi (points per square inch), an all-purpose carding cloth, and 112 psi, great for fine wools and downy fibers. Both are available with curved or straight-backed paddles. Cotton cards are also available with 208 psi, which is great for cotton and other short fibers. These are also available with flat or curved-backed paddles. A 84 psi flick carder is also available.
